The VOLCANO MEDIC 2 is suitable for vaporizing dronabinol (THC).
► Further information can be found, among others, in Chapter 4 of the official User Manual.
The VOLCANO MEDIC 2 can be used with the hose or with our MEDIC VALVE balloon. It is also possible to use dosing capsules for a small amount of plant material. The dosing capsules are easy to handle and perfect for preparation.
► The MEDIC VALVE balloon and the hose should only be used by one person and for a maximum of 70 uses as well as a maximum of 14 days from the first use. After that, a new MEDIC VALVE balloon with mouthpiece or a new hose with mouthpiece must be used. In case of heavy contamination, the MEDIC VALVE balloon and/or the hose must be replaced earlier.
-
Unscrew the lid of the filling chamber counterclockwise from the filling chamber housing.
-
Grind the hemp flowers with the included herb grinder. Put a hazelnut-sized amount into the herb grinder and turn it 4–5 times.
► For consistent and reproducible dosing, use each portion of the filling chamber only once to fill one MEDIC VALVE balloon.
Other conditions for reproducible dosing are: use of standardized cannabis, consistent amount, constant temperature, consistent MEDIC VALVE balloon size (standard size 1.25 l), and the same breathing technique when inhaling. - Screw the lid of the filling chamber back on.
Using the MEDIC VALVE Balloon
-
When the actual temperature matches the set temperature, pull the MEDIC VALVE balloon tight. Place the MEDIC VALVE balloon vertically on the filling chamber.
-
Turn on the air pump by pressing the pump touch button (AIR).
Once the MEDIC VALVE balloon is filled with the required amount of vapor, turn off the air pump. -
Remove the MEDIC VALVE balloon from the filling chamber.
Remove the filling chamber from the hot air generator.
► To do this, hold the lid of the filling chamber at the knobs.
Place the filling chamber on a heat-resistant surface. -
Disconnect the MEDIC VALVE balloon from the filling chamber.
► The valve closes automatically after disconnection, and the aerosol in the MEDIC VALVE balloon cannot escape. -
Attach the mouthpiece to the MEDIC VALVE balloon and begin use immediately.
Press lightly with your lips against the mouthpiece.
Inhale evenly for a few seconds and only as much as possible.
Using the Hose Unit
- Before using the hose, turn off the pump by pressing the pump (AIR) button.
- Place the filling chamber with lid on the hot air generator and screw it clockwise as far as it will go.
- Turn on the heater by pressing the heater (HEAT) button, set the desired temperature, and allow it to heat up.
- When the actual temperature matches the set temperature, place the hose set on the filling chamber and let it click into place.
- Inhale the vapor slowly for a few seconds from the hose with the attached mouthpiece.
► Always unplug the power cord after inhalation.
► Open the lid of the filling chamber by turning it counterclockwise and dispose of the used plant material.
► Before starting cleaning, the components must be disassembled.
MEDIC VALVE balloons or hoses and their mouthpieces are designed for multiple uses without special cleaning. However, please ensure they are replaced after the maximum number of uses/days.
► The following instructions refer to the filling chamber, hose elbow, and mouthpiece:
Pre-cleaning
- Clean the components individually with a soft hand brush under cold, running water (40°C) with drinking water quality to remove coarse contaminants.
- Place the components in 70% (V/V) isopropyl alcohol for 5 minutes. During these 5 minutes, move the components back and forth in the isopropyl alcohol bath.
- Remove the components from the isopropyl alcohol bath and pour off excess isopropyl alcohol.
- Rinse each component under cold, running water (40°C) with drinking water quality for at least 30 seconds. Make sure water flows through the components.
- Dry the components with a clean kitchen towel.
Cleaning in the Dishwasher
- Clean the components individually with a soft hand brush as described above.
- Place the components in a standard dishwasher. Ensure that the openings are not blocked.
- Add a standard dishwasher tablet and start the standard wash program at 70°C.
- After cleaning in the dishwasher, rinse each component under cold, running water (40°C) with drinking water quality for at least 30 seconds. Ensure water flows through the components.
- Dry the components with a clean kitchen towel.
Cleaning in the Washer-Disinfector (WD)
- Place the components in a WD. Ensure that the openings are not blocked.
- Start the following program:
- Pre-wash – approx. 3 minutes – at 28°C
- Cleaning 2–10 minutes – at 60°C
- Rinse – 2 minutes – at 32°C, demineralized water

The hose set of the VOLCANO MEDIC 2 is not compatible with the original VOLCANO MEDIC device.
Reasons:
- The hose mode of the VOLCANO MEDIC 2 operates without the air pump.
- It is based on a patented hybrid heating system: a combination of hot air convection and direct heat conduction via the heated filling chamber.
- This guarantees vapor production on the first inhalation without activating the pump.
Design-Specific Incompatibility
- The filling chamber of the VOLCANO MEDIC 2 is screw-mounted for 360° hose rotation and cannot be attached to older VOLCANO MEDIC models.
- Although the hose could technically fit the original MEDIC VALVE filling chamber, the device lacks the heat conduction mechanism required for proper hose performance.
- The original MEDIC VALVE chamber also cannot be securely fixed via threads, making it unsuitable for hose use.
